The Role Logistics

We're seeking a savvy, relationship-focused Outbound Sales Development Specialist to join our team! 

This is a part-time contractor role starting at 15–25 hours per week, with opportunities to expand based on impact and additional skills capabilities.

  • This is a 100% remote position with flexible hours
  • Must be available during the Eastern time zone business hours of 9am-6pm EST
  • Open to international and U.S.-based candidates
  • U.S. comp range - $25-30 USD/hour
  • International comp range - $10-$15 USD/hour

Based on experience, we can discuss a combination of an hourly rate / flat rate and performance based commission.


Responsibilities and Areas of Need

This is a very special sales role because our company does value-based relationships and consultative sales. We’re looking for an outbound and top-of-funnel B2B prospecting specialist who is on a mission to apply custom messaging at scale. 

It’s important for someone in this role who cares first and foremost about bringing value to the people in our network. All sales and partnerships we form are a result of us delivering a lot of value FIRST and truly forming relationships with fellow business owners. Everything we touch is "white glove" and highly custom. Copy pasta or generic AI communication is not welcome with us because it's the polar opposite of our brand experience.

We need someone who really understands that but can also apply that at scale (and love doing it!)

If sending 40+ emails in a day that are each unique responses to real conversations sounds like a dream role to you, we’d love to find someone who really shines at this!

You’ll work closely with our CEO, Growth Director, and Marketing Director who are responsible for our sales calls and proposals as well as our referral partner program.

We will provide a strategy, process, and training. We’re very collaborative, but also this will be a highly autonomous and self-driven role.

You would be building relationships with innovative, mission-driven, early-stage startups and small business owners.

Below is a list of areas where we have gaps and need your help.

Bonus if someone has multiple areas of interest. Mega bonus if someone has multiple areas of interest AND experience AND they love what we do AND they can keep up with high performers.

  • Own top-of-funnel execution and outbound prospecting through relationship building in LinkedIn and email.
  • Be responsible for the first-half relationship cycle for cold leads: identify prospects, send initial emails/DMs/connections, nudges, follow-ups, call coordination, etc. 
  • Identify and engage with potential leads through thoughtful, personalized communication. Leads are generated (with the help of marketing) from our newsletter subscribers, competitor scraping tools, and other creative sourcing methods.
  • Conduct initial 15-20 min discovery calls to understand prospect needs and qualify opportunities, which would include giving an overview of Magical Teams, discuss and understand their problems, get a sense of timing and any budget issues, triage to determine next steps, and coordinate hand-off to other team members.
  • In time, there is a growth path to transition into a more “full cycle” role which could include generating proposals, sending contracts, and relationship management.
  • Additional opportunities to contribute to broader marketing and growth initiatives.

Skills That Will Enable You to Thrive

  • Prior experience in sales or growth roles, with a focus on outbound, B2B prospecting and social selling via LinkedIn ideally within early-stage startups and small business ecosystems.
  • An uncanny natural ability to build authentic relationships and engage in value-oriented conversations. You take pride in meaningful connection over high-volume “salesy” outreach.
  • Exceptional self-management skills in fast-paced environments — including capturing action items, tracking open loops, prioritizing tasks, following up promptly, and ensuring no balls are dropped.
  • Confidence in leading external stakeholder-facing calls with CEOs and business owners, while knowing when to loop in leadership for strategic escalation.
  • Extremely comfortable navigating ambiguity and knowing how to create clarity for yourself.
  • You are flexible, resilient, and agile, adjusting your strategies and tactics as needed to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • You are quick to pick up new tech and tools. Bonus if you are familiar and confident in using tools like LinkedIn, CRMs, Flodesk, Canva, Slack, ClickUp, Missive, and Google Workspace.
  • AI-literate and excited to optimize tools like Claude or ChatGPT into daily workflows.
  • You are detail oriented with precision. Special note to see if you’re paying attention. Put the secret code “I have found my peeps” in the 2nd to last application question.
  • You have a reliable computer and internet connection and can use video conferencing services such as Zoom.
